I have now used Alhydran since my radiation treatment in April/May 2023. It has proven to be a wonderful treatment of my skin area that was affected by the burning from the radiation. This is the cream I react really well to

have had chronic inflammations on my face for years. Every time my skin cleared up slowly but the inflammations kept coming back more often and kept getting worse. Ultimately I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. That was the reason why operations were often unsuccessful and the wounds kept coming back. I had 22 operations altogether over a period of three years. And you’re always left with a scar after every operation. I’ve tried a lot of different scar creams over the years, and I’ve discovered that I react badly to some of them.

When I went to the Dutch Burns Day in Amersfoort I was given a couple of sample tubes of ALHYDRAN. This is the cream I respond really well to. I can use ALHYDRAN even on wounds that have just closed. It really calms the skin and the scars are definitely becoming less visible. Now I’m taking strong drugs to suppress my autoimmune disease. Ultimately I hope that my skin will settle down, especially now that I’m using ALHYDRAN.

When the skin barrier is disrupted, the body loses an abnormal high volume of water through the skin. This will result in a decrease of the normal water percentage in the epidermis, causing the skin barrier to disfunction. This vulnerable skin is unable to heal and protect itself.

Complaints arise such as severe itching, redness, dry skin etc. This in turn can cause, among other things, unfavourable scar development, trigger eczema and stagnation of wound healing. This skin needs optimal hydration of the epidermis and restoration of the barrier function to be able to recover.
