Scarban Elastic Silicone Scar Sheet – Oval 4×3 cm

Scarban® Oval 4×3 cm – Intensive Silicone Sheeting for Scars

A medical-grade silicone scar sheet (oval 4×3 cm) designed for small scars from biopsy/mole removal, keyhole (laparoscopy/arthroscopy) ports, stitches, minor burns or trauma. Scarban® Elastic provides intensive, cut-to-fit silicone therapy to help flatten raised scars (keloid/hypertrophic), reduce redness and itch, and protect with SPF 50+—trusted by clinicians across New Zealand.

Why choose Scarban silicone sheeting for scars?

Scarban Elastic is made from extra-thick, medical-grade silicone to optimise hydration of scar tissue — reducing redness, discomfort, and long-term scar visibility. The compact oval shape (4×3 cm) is ideal for small, targeted areas and delicate skin.

  • SPF 50+ UV protection built in

  • Short suture lines and stitch marks on hands, face, or body
  • Graft edges, minor burns, and small traumatic cuts
  • Healed piercing bumps/keloids (use only on closed, intact skin)

What makes silicone scar sheeting so effective?

Silicone sheeting is widely regarded as a gold standard in conservative scar management. It works by:

  • Reducing moisture loss and helping prevent excess collagen production
  • Soothing itching, pain, and tightness
  • Helping scars become softer, flatter, and less red
  • Minimising the risk of hypertrophic and keloid scars

Silicone’s occlusive, breathable barrier helps restore hydration, calm collagen activity, and minimise thickness and colour over time.

With consistent use, most users see visible improvement within 2–4 months.

Treating scars with Scarban

Many people notice relief from itching and pain within days. Over 2–4 months, scars typically become more flexible, flatter and less red. Start early for best results: using silicone sheeting as soon as the wound is closed can significantly reduce long-term scarring.

Trusted by clinics and used in NZ hospitals

Placement & care

  • Apply to clean, dry skin; avoid oils/creams under the sheet
  • Round corners after trimming to improve adhesion
  • If needed, secure edges with medical tape (do not occlude the whole sheet)
  • Daily clean with mild soap; allow to air-dry before reapplying

When to start & how long

Begin once the skin is fully closed and sutures are removed. Start 2–4 hours/day, build to 12–24 hours/day as tolerated, for 8–12 weeks (older scars may need longer).
